METADIX file is an Apertium Metadix Dictionary Data. Apertium is a machine translation platform being developed with funding from the Spanish government and the government of Catalonia at the Universitat d'Alacant (University of Alicante). It is free software and released under the terms of the GNU General Public License. Metadix is a minor extension of the DIX format of Apertium dictionaries that allows a certain level of parameterization of paradigms in monodixes.
Other types of files may also use the .metadix file extension.
